Whether you are travelling from the south to the north or need a rest along the way, Pohjankievari is a great option. We are a private family hotel in a peaceful area only 10 minutes away from Oulu.
Our aim is to serve well and in a flexible manner. Breakfast starts as early as 5:45 AM on weekdays, and you can enjoy cool drinks and pub-style meals in our restaurant. The sauna is heated for customers in the evenings, and we also have barbecue hut, where customers can grill their own snacks.
There are many simple single and twin rooms in the hotel. You can also choose from bigger family rooms, or apartments with own kitchen and a separate bedroom.
Kievarinhovi apartments are located next to the hotel and offer a high-quality accommodation option. The Kievarinhovi apartments are each decorated with different styles. The apartments have a kitchen, and a private sauna.
For meetings, we have two meeting rooms for rent. The larger one can accommodate up to a hundred people.
Pohjankievari resembles an American-style motel in appearance but stands out from the images created by the films with a better level of service. We value the basics: good sleep, breakfast, and a homey atmosphere. Our guests are regular commuters, sports teams, and other travellers. Our regular customers return to us year after year.
Our yard is easily accessible even with a big vehicle. There are outdoor plugs to keep your vehicle engine warm, and electric cars can also be charged with no extra fees.
Pohjankievari has a long history. The place was known as an entertainment-focused hotel with big buffets, music, dance, and bands before. Pohjankievari transferred to its current owners in 2014. It is a matter of heart for us that our business brings employment and tourism to Kempele. We also operate hotels in other locations: Hotel Kajaani in Kajaani, Hotel Käenpesä in Ylivieska and Hotel Rantakalla in Kalajoki.

Check-in starts at 15:30 on the day of arrival. Check-out by 12.00 on the day of departure. The price includes breakfast, internet, evening sauna, and parking. There is also a shared space for our customers with a fridge, freezer, coffee maker and microwave, as well as ironing facilities.
The sauna is heated daily: common shift from Sunday to Thursday from 18:00 to 22:00 (women can book their own 30 min shift). Friday to Saturday shifts for women 18.00-19.00 and 20.00-21.00, for men 19.00-20.00 and 21.00-22.00.
Breakfast is served from 05:45 to 09:00 on weekdays, and from 08:00 to 10:00 on weekends and public holidays. If necessary, a self-service early breakfast is also possible if ordered the day before your arrival at the latest.
Extra bed 25 € per person per day.
A cot for babies 10 € per day.
We charge 15 € for pets per room for one whole stay. Please inform us about pets in advance. There are a limited number of pet rooms. Thank you for taking our other guests into account as well!
Apartment Kievarinhovi, Kempele
The accommodation selection increased with Apartment Kievarinhovi a few years ago. The spacious apartments have a furnished room with a small kitchen, a bathroom, a sauna, and an open terrace. Two of the apartments have a separate bedroom with a double bed, and the other one also has a sofa bed in the living room. Each apartment is decorated with a different theme.
As a guest of Kievarinhovi, you can enjoy breakfast in the hotel for an extra fee of 9 €. Reservations, check-in and check-out are also handled by hotel.
